kicker vs infinity

lookin at 6.5" coax speakers by either company. ds series from kicker and referenece/ kappa from infinty.

just wonderin what you guys thought of these. id be powerin them with pioneer hu with hpf and want to know who has better highs and mids? no bass

My friend has 4 of the Kicker Ds. They don't sound too bad.

kappas are decent i have the 60.7's just dont feed them more than their rms

I had infinity reference series 6x8 fronts and 6x9 rears, they sounded great but the highs were very bright.

Yes, Infinity FTW.

I have refence and I love them, they sound almost as good as the Kappas.

The highs are very "bright and sparkly", but you can turn them down on HU. I love the sound of them with HPF at 125, and the refernce line is very efficient with power, so you will be loud w/o and amp. The last pair of Kicker door speaks I heard was in 2003, so idk about the newer line, but they were hellatrash back then.

yeah people say kicker just because but i reallly wasnt sure how good speakesr they make. with infinty all i hear is how bright they are and how loud they are

Neither of those would be my first choice, but with the given choices I would go with kicker. I have heard their midbasses and they werent too bad for the price.

if not those what would you guys get under the 80$ range that has as bright of highs as the infinities?

I don't like either but if you made me pick, I'd take the infinity's since you don't want any midbass out of them.

for 80 bucks, I didn't see what size you need but you might find a local dealer with arc audio and look into their KS line. VERY affordable, VERY nice.

KAPPA'S = kicker ss series splits imo
