Kicker Subs

^besides the fact they made them that way? Kicker believes that because they are square they have more surface area to move air (which would in theory mean louder subs) They definitely get loud!

 
They are square because Kicker can squeeze more total effective piston area from a square in a given space than they can from a circle.

Meaning: more cone area per sub.

The square sub takes up approximately the same space as a circle sub, but delivers more effective cone area.
