there are amps, i think from audiobahn that are 5,000 rms beasts, but kicker wires like 4 of their 1250wrms to it, and its a special woofer cause its rated at 1 ohm! so i think you could buy like a certain amp thats rated 2,000 or even 1,500 @ 4 ohm, and then have it so it safely goes down to 1 ohm, and wire it up!

In that case one Orion 2500D should be more than enough. Another good amp is the Planet audio 2250D

With a sub like that, you just dont run 1 single amp on it. you got 1 or 2 amps per coil
