Need some quality 6.5 speakers..

I'm going to upgrade my entire system, but am not really up to date. I've pretty much decided on my other components, but this is pretty much the last step. I want to build a real quality system so I want the best this time around. I've spent a good chunk of change on marginal components and I'm ready to upgrade. That said, what are really good or the best 6.5" speakers?

I basically want something that sounds clean at high volumes without distortion and something that can handle alot of heat. I want to do it right this time so money's not an option. Thanks for the reply. That looks like a pretty sweet setup. Another question I had is what amp to use with these speakers. Again, I want something that has more than enough power so I can get full potential. Thanks.

CDT are really nice too. I think that the Focal have a bit better sound to them though. Amps for that is a good question. Not totally sure on that...but I would guess any high end amp would do, Mcintosh perhaps? Great clean sound there.

Regarding good amps, it is really hard to notice the difference in sq of between different brand of amps.

But i assume that more expensive amps will sound cleaner.

My friend had zapco amps in his system and they sound really nice compared to my US Acoustics. But the price difference is double or tripled.

If you're in the Bay Area, near Mission St. there is a whole lotta car stereo stores you could check out. Sometimes you gotta listen for yourself. Not to say any of the mentioned speakers are bad, lol.

I love my Diamond Audio 6.5 comps. But I rarely see anyone on this board talking about them. On a different note, I saw one of their HEX subwoofers in action and I was stunned. Never seen a JL W7 but this thing was incredible.

id go with focal utopias.....much cheaper than the eurosports. ur not gona get much better sound than these 2 speakers. I dont see how u guys are saying some amps sound clean u cant tell SQ difference amps. Any decent amplifier with the right amount of wattage will be fine. No need to waste money on Mcintosh or Zapco.

The Focal k power just came out and i dont think anyone has them yet. It should sound awesome though. I found a review on the 165 K2P. Here is the link:
