kicker SOLO X vs JL AUDIO W7

if i was to buy a sub that sounds good and pounds hard what sould i buy kicker solo x or jl audio w7. I say that the kicker solo x is cheaper then the w7 and sounds better then the w7. but this guy tells me that the w7 is way better then the solo x. what do you all think

i dont thin the solo x is cheaper then the W7... in fact its like 3 times as much..

W7 goes for what.. 500-700

solo x i think goes for 1500-1800

but i may be wrong

and plus u cant really compare these 2 subs.. JL is a SQ sub while Kicker is a Spl sub..

this kicker will kick the shit out of JL as far as spl , but wont sound as good as the Jl...

I know that solo x is going to be expensive....I mean those are the things they use to make wave pools at amuzment parks.....either way I doubt it will touch the w7 in quality, but its quad coil and handles a hella lot power so I would imagen the spl should beet even the XXX...for the price it should be the best at something, wouldn't you thing?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

i have not found a better sounding sub (in the correct setup) that also gets asloud as the W7...notice i said SQ....but u have to also remember that they get really loud too...

i have a dual ported competition box set up and mine sound remarkable and is really loud!!

id bet the solo X would take it in SPL...

also ive never heard the solo X yet...r the even out yet???

yeah the Solo X is going o be very loud... but for the price i rather buy just 2 XXX..in this book i have, the Solo x is 1800$.. that to much for any sub...1800$ u can buy a whole kick *** system...HU, Amps Subs.. etc)

Kicker designed the sub to be an all out SPL machine...and I'm sure they designed it so its not a floppy crapfest either.

SQ the JL has it, it has too. The SOLO - X which no one here has heard is going to definatly kick some SPL ***

ok the solox kicks jl's *** in both sq and spl. i heard a solox at a shop in a ported box with 2500 watts going to it. he turned it on and it did not hit at all till the low notes hit. it made my eyes water and my stomach hurt. then he turned on two jl w7 12's and it didnt compare at all. 2 weeks later i put 2 in my supra with 5000 going to each turned my bass knob upand put me stereo on 18 and it blew every window in my car out on the street.oh and the solox can be bought for well under 600 just look for a while.

hey, i work at a shop in minnesota called Mach-1. all we deal in is high end stuff (kicker, ppi, viper, direkted, alpine, jl etc) we have two solo-x's in stock and we have sold two of them. they r 1300$ with FULL lifetime unlimited warrenties. we also have jl audio w710, w712 and w713.5. we sell those all day long. but we always see them again once they have left the store.we have had many problems with them

you put 5000w on each? Ya right, your supra doesnt generate HALF the power to run that for 2 minutes.

You dont have to sit here and lie to us to try and look good. And if you knew anything youd know that the SOLO X isnt going to beat the JL w7 in quality. SPL, yes, SQ no. And in a shop comparing 2 subs is nothing like comparing 2 subs in a vehicle.

i have heard the two solo-x's in the vehicle we put them in and they hit hard. they do have the power to pop a back window but not all of them so dont listen to who ever said that. but u said that u can get a whole system for 1500$ right? well if ur worried about money dont get the solo-x. yeah the sub is 1300$ but for one solo-x to be ran at good power it will cost u around 8000$ to get one of them going.

u would need an alternator rebuild, two yellow top optima battery's (on top of the factory), a viper 2500.1 on each coil (wich will make it full power), negative 1 ot guage wire (wich u can only get from crankin' power at 26$ a foot), the ground wire the same, and two 140a inline block fuses. and thats just to get the sub going. oh and the solo-x is sq and an spl sub. it will beat the jl w7. you all forgot the sub is SQUARE!! and sq was the purpose for going to the square sub and it came out to be louder in spl too. so u just need to get ur budget together and find out what u want. if its is money ur worried about, dont get either, go with rockford.
