Kicker rms rating

Could a 2 ohm 10" L5 handle 600 watts Rms? I am running two on 350 rms each right now and would like to up it a little bit, several people have told me that they can handle more than their rating. thanks

they can handle more.. but not much more.. only if its 100% clean and unclipped.. once that dirty signal gets in there they're toast

exactly, so long as its clean power, you should be fine. Ive pushed kickers past their rms rating, and they wouldnt even distort or anything, but it was clean power

x2, as long as the signal is clean, they should be fine. But if they start getting stinky or hot you have a problem...

I can play a clipped signal through any speaker and it'll be just fine as long as it can handle the power that's being applied to it.

Well, I sent 550rms off a fosgate to CVR's, and they were fine. If I bumped for extended periods tho, id smell voice coil. CVR rated at 400...if that answers the op's question

can only damage speakers 2 ways, overpower(exceeding thermal limits) or physical abuse(exceeding mechanical limits, purposely throwing woofer across room)

hahaha....although Ive seen some DD's that if you threw across the room would put a whole in the wall and damage everything around it!! thats funny though...I chucked a Lanzar one time

my cvrs were rated for 400 and I sent 550 without distortion...

i HAVE HOOKED UP MY 10" L7 WIRED TO 2 OHM TO MY kICKER ZX.1500.1 AMP AND IT WAS CRAZY, over double the rated rms, but if I tryed that with a clipping sigal it would probley go up in smoke.

lol just caue you hooked it up to that amp doesn't mean it's getting what that amp is capable of. It has to be 0dB material @ or near full volume.
