Oh, and those ribbed cones are almost as ridiculously stupid and inspired by a predominantly adolescent market as are their square cones. The biggest flaw of square cones is the unequal stress on the cone, which is offset by the use of strengthening ribs in the areas of highest stress, the corners. Unfortunately, those ribs also add otherwise unnecessary mass to the moving structure, trading one problem for another. The price to pay for your subs having corners. So what does Kicker do? Turns around and puts those ribs on their rounds cones as well, which dont even need them. Hilarious. This is a clear example of Stillwater Designs/Kicker having sold out: placing a lower emphasis on performance than they do on aesthetics and marketing.
IMO, Kicker might as well put "sell out" on their dust caps.
