Kicker MX700.5 amp wire size: 34' run

My Kicker MX700.5 amp's manual says "Fuse90A" and "PowerGroundWire 4GA"

However, when I use this calculator, and follow the "no more than 3% voltage drop" recommendation, 4 gauge wire is apparently only good for up to 8 feet long.

Not too good, but worse, when I calculate the wire size needed for my 34-foot round-trip battery-to-amp-to-battery circuit, I'd need at least 4/0 wire ...

... am I doing this right??

HOLY CR@P

i smell a same day repost...
Oops ... meant to put this in Electrical & Wiring.

My question about Kicker's manual mentioning 4 gauge with 90 amps didn't get answered in my other post, so I thought I'd make it a 2nd question.

Didn't mean to tick anybody off, hope it didn't.

2 leads of 4 gauge and u should be fine
I will do that ...

... I was just curious if you all think it's OK that Kicker would state 4 gauge when it's only good for 8 feet total for a 90A load?

na man, just tossin some shit your way ;d

think of it like this

1 8 foot run is good for '90amps'

so common sense says, 2 16 foot runs would be good for '90amps' //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

i think you said you got 17 feet from the amp to the battery? plus, a 700watt amp shouldn't be pulling more then 45-50amps ? or am i wrong ;d
