Kicker Made in China

do explain...I'm curious.
A couple of reasons:

sound quality was bad: background noise, mids and highs were mashed toghether, poor driver control, very little headroom

power: the 4 channel clipped at lower output than the 75 watt per channel polk or Jl slash series even though it was rated at 107 w per channel, audibly weaker than the two. The polk momo 500.1 was superior by far in driving my two kappa perfect subs, more output better damping etc.

construction: I took off the endcaps and I could harldly screw them back in, the threading was poor imo. The amp case felt flimsy.

cooling: fans were very loud, and they would turn on very quickly as the amp shortly started to get hot. without fans I figured they'd go in protection mode rather quickly.

I bought them brand new from Kicker when I worked at Circuitcity, not used, no lemons, no refurbised items.

Kinda reminds me why I stoped posting on this forum for months at a time. Most users prefer to hear themselves regurgitating rather than listen to other's opinions, which is why we're here in the first place.

This is sort of besides the point, but since ive got all the kicker fanatics here, why cant I STILL not get a new coils for my vast collection of 04 L7 10's that are currently holding the cement floor down in my garage? You cant tell me that out of 9 billion L7's made, there werent a few left over somewhere ***LOOKS OVER AT POLECAT*** //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
you can't get them because you can't seem to follow simple postings I have done, like "if you PM me I will see what i can do", i don't take public postings as a job duty //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

well you'll be there first, maybe the SX DSP was just a bit 'overwhelming', the DSP has way more features and controls then any other amp that I know, and if it is installed incorrectly, and the DSP is setup wrong, you will get all the problems you have...in all the cars I have seen them in, all competition cars/show cars, they ahve plenty of power, EQ'ing and way better SQ then most 'comparable' amps.

I thought the DSP made it easier to set it up actually. I did however dry to change settings in a desparate attempt to make them sound better with no results to show for it. I do full active systems and I used exactly same xover points, slopes, and no eq'ing. It was a direct amp swap keeping everything else constant.

What do you consider comparable with the kicker sx?

well considering there isn't many with the DSP the SX has, not very many, problem is, even some good installers, very good ones, have a hard time figuring out the DSP features. And 4 preset capability.
