Alot of guys around me buy them over the net. The two closest stores that sell them are mucho dinero. i believe you're referring to me. i never said they have good sq, i said they have gotten a bad rap for sh!tty sq! however, i don't think it's bad,(the sq) considering what their intended purpose is(spl). my hx2's are more for spl, yet they don't sound bad. a little muddy at times, but for the average listener....he!l, must think they sound great!

anyway, unless someones gonna compete in a sq class, and decides to spend quite a bit of money, they probably don't mind to sacrifice a little sq for spl. and in the end, it's up to the individual to decide if they like 'em.

They do have pretty good SQ if you put them in the right enclosure. The problem I had was the right enclosure for the sound I wanted was to big for my car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

actually it was denim...he said the new L7's have a higher wattage handeling better SQ and much better durablility, the L5's can not take the power the L7s can

ive never been too impressed w/ the l7's for a sq sub tho.....i guess ive never heard them in the right enclosure....but ohh well...

ok i have a question since everybody is talking about the sq is alrite and not too bad and its good considerin they are designed for spl .UMmm.. So if i was gonna listen to 15"L7's for everyday use would they have good enough Sq for me cuz i know they would have spl.

IMO, 15's are hard on sq anyway, most are slow and heavy,but i think you'll be alright. the enclosure is really gonna determine your fate there.

a shop close to town wants to yank my 8" HX2's and drop a pair of the 10"L7's in my 3^3 ported box. should i?

The L7's are not SPL monsters with no other qualities. Many people buy them for the SPL and have them installed and tuned for SPL, so of course your going to get a slanted view of what they are capable of sounding like. It's like Nebraska quarterbacks, you never really get a good feel for how good a passer some of them really are or could be in another setup.

OK so if i have the money...and im just gonna be usin the subs for daily use and a little showin ofd(and thats it). do u think i should be gettin a pair of 15" L7's or a pair of 12"L7's....Again..i have the money but just not sure what i need to be gettin..cuz i want it to sound good but also put out a lot of bass...

IMO, the 12" L7s would be better for daily listening and a little showing off. My 15s hit pretty slow, and arent too satisfying to my ears for just daily listening. I have been listening to alot of country lately. My system is calling for some good power handling 12s.
