its not gonna give 1600 watts rms. and many people have used this setup. do it properly and you will be fine. all you noobs, need to learn what your doing, and study your audio a little more, before you come in here trying to tell us some bullshit that you base your knowledge on. were not gonna give someone advice, if its gonna hurt him or his equipment. so learn a little more, and then report back to us, and tell us we are wrong. or better yet bring some facts and details

Some of you people on this forum really need to lighten up quite a bit instead of outright attacking or insulting others (unless they completely deserve it.. and there are some that do). If you know others are wrong, then the best thing to do is to teach them why they are wrong instead of "leave, go learn, report back". Everyone has to start learning somewhere, and for a lot of people it's right here. I find it really sad that so many act like car audio knowledge is something that they're born with; and if you don't possess it, then you aren't worth a squirt of piss.

no, thats not what i was getting at. i guess now that i read it, i really came across the wrong way. what i wanna say is to not jump on something you dont know about. instead of telling people stuff that you dont know, or are not sure about, maybe you should ask, or read around to get better knowledge of what its about.

Now, back on topic... the reason I suggested running the amp at 2 Ohms with that L7 is because a potential 900-1000W RMS is going to make that sub get up and dance just as much as a potential 1400-1500W RMS will. Doesn't matter much either way, because the amp gain will have to be set in a manner to not allow the sub to exceed its thermal and mechanical limitations in a given install as well as not send a clipped signal. This will have to be adhered to regardless if the amp load is 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, etc, etc etc Ohms. I picked 2 Ohms solely for the fact that it should provide enough power for the 12" L7, the amp should produce less heat, and the amp should potentially draw less current.
