Kicker L7 Solo Baric Flexed out...HELP!

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa......just wire them to the WIRE CAP..then when u have 2 sets of speakers wires connect the + to + and - to - outside the box, then continue to DO THIS

+ TO SPK PORT 1 +

- TO SPK PORT 2 -

either way, the that MTX gained right @ 1 ohm should put down 1500 which is not too bad for those subs (750rms)...Even if you set the gain for 750 @ 2ohms, with that load you still would've got 1500 @ 1 ohm.

mtx 1501d is rated 1500wrms @ 2ohm...

in theory it would be 3000wrms @ 1ohm...thus sending 1500wrms to each sub..

did ur amp ever shut off? i ask, becuz i've heard both sides of the mtx running/ not running at 1 ohm..

btw...running at 1 ohm, if the amp didn't shut off, continous could also have damaged the amp..it isn't "rated" to do one ohm..

and sbcaprice is right about how to wire ur subs.....even if it's a pain in the ***...ur gonna have to series ur coils (make each sub 8 ohm)..then when u connect it to the amp, u'll be at 4 ohm...and 750 wrms

If I were you I would take your new one(when you replace your blown one) to a shop and have them wire them for you. Its safer this way until you know a little more about series/parallel and impedance loads.

i second that thought. while ur there. see if they will let u watch to give some some idea about waht they are doing. have them explain it to u as they go along.

just make sure it's a compentent audio shop and not just some best buy.

good luck

well i wired it like this.....black to black....and red to red..........and then each sub in its each port in the amp.....cuz it says speaker 1 and speaker 2.....it says that...but the amp is still mono. .....yall get wat im saying?...............wat does 7 mile fair mean?...lol

THIS is the EXACT reason MTX should have never put two sets of terminals on that amp. The two terminals on the amp are paralleled. Next time read your instructions and you'd KNOW that.

You were running at 1ohm and likely putting over 1700 watts into the pair.

Add that to GROSS negligence required to toast a coil in that manner and this sub shouldn't be warrentied...User negligence.

A sub will give you signs that it's going to go - namely smell, distortion, tapping out on the back plate.

click on tutorials and then impeadance and LEARN how to properly wire the coils of your subs to achieve a certain ohm load BEFORE you do it next time.

Im not trying to be an ***, but good lord man...would you throw a 500 shot of N20 into your engine not knowing what your doing or doing any research?? Would you try to drop a pair of T72 turbos on your car if you didnt know jack about turbos or the necessary fuel upgrades? NO, so why would you wire up your subs not knowing how? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/waycrazy.gif.f4a380c3f94043939fd369defd9e6be2.gif

here I am throwing 8800 watts rms in 4 L7 12s and have well over 50 FULL POWER burps on them and they are still new.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

Im not flaming or hating, but rather i am completely baffled as to why you'd just pick any ole wiring diagram and follow it. As I've told hundereds of peeps (mostly chicks) you CANT just throw any ole sub on any ole amp and hope it works....

Yes. Not 1ohm stable, unless you mod them.
Actually they are stable to 0.35dcr without the mod.

The only thing the mod does is remove the voltage protection. If you can keep the voltage at 13.8v you dont have to mod it. You WILL however have to turn the compression circuit off irregardless however to get max power.

****, thanks for all the info. See my friend wired my stuff first, and he knows alot about this stuff. So i just assume he knew wat he was doing. But i guess he was wrong. So i'll just take my stuff to circuit city. i heard they know wat they be doing, the one by my house //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Cuz i dont wanna spend to much, i already gonna lose alot buying new ones. lol....and no the amp didnt shut off or nothing. I dont think the amp had any problems at all. But we'll know onces the new subs are going.
