hey, as many of you already know. I asked about mixing da older kicker L7 and new one together. Well i installed them 2 days ago. And they worked fine, but noitced that the new one wasn't working yesterday. The old one works fine, no problem with that. But the new one, its sort of like flexed out ....its coming outwards in the front, and when i push it in, it really dont go no where, doesn't move at all. Nothing seems to be broken or anything. I wired it same way as my old one was, but still it dont work. I tired wiring it differnently, but still no luck. Anyone know what's going on? These are Kicker Solo Baric L7 12" One that is messed up is a 04 verion.

so the cone is stuck in the extended (out) position? and when you push it, it wont move at all ??

unless there is something physically blocking the back movements.... i'm gonna say its likely you blew the sub.

how much power were you giving it and in what kind of box?

well, it didn't get alot of power at all. I got a MTX 1501D amp, and got 2 L7's, wiered at 2OHM each...so thats like 4 OHM going into the amp, and at 4OHM the amp is giving 750 watts total. And each sub can handle 750 RMS......so dont know. But the sub dont look like its blowen, like thing seems broken or ripped. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

no....this is the first time it happened. I went circuit city and had the dude check it out. And the dude said its gonne...its like blowen.....and that its frozen. So i guess i ****ed up a brand new sub. I hope the dude at the flee market switch's it.

well if you wired each sub to 2 ohms then wired directly to the amp, that would be 1 ohm, and probably a lot of power? Unless you actually series'd the subs for 8 ohms a piece then disregard my post //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

yeah thats 1 ohm load if he wired the speakers in parralel........ but if they each have their own channel then its a 2 ohm load on each speaker output..... then again if he wired them in series then its a 4 ohm load.......

so which one is it?

well i wired it like this.....black to black....and red to red..........and then each sub in its each port in the amp.....cuz it says speaker 1 and speaker 2.....it says that...but the amp is still mono. .....yall get wat im saying?...............wat does 7 mile fair mean?...lol

o its a "flee"market that is up in wisconsin....i go there they got great stuff and have no prob w/ people returning stuff...blew 2 12"hx2's 1 week after buyin em..took em back gave me a new set..no questions asked....

sorry so the subs r dual 2 ohms each?

if so u had the amp at .5 ohm load......//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

if u have dual 4 ohm u had it at 1 ohm load on amp..

the 1500 is internally brideged

u should had wired them in series/parrelel...then just f uck all that sp 1 sp 2 bs and just hook it up le speaker 1 + // speaker 2 - on the amp to bypass all the stupid stuff..i think..ps i have the same amp

pps look in the mtx manual might say sumtin in there

well this flee is in chicago....well like 20 mins from there.......i know i can exchange it and stuff.......these subs were dual 4 ohm each......and i got them wired at 2 ohm

in alsip??

u had the subs wired to 1 ohm on the amp!

so u did

sub# 1

blk to black

red to red

then to speaker 1 port

sub #2

black to blk

red to red

then to speaker 2 port

correct?
