Please remember that this is a forum for learning and not flaming. Everyone has different opinions and experience. We all can at least make an effort to be civil towards each other. May even be beneficial in learning a few things that would otherwise not present themselves. Please keep it friendly from now on.

Installerfreak, you have to realize that people are naturally going to be a little skeptical of the SPL numbers you claim. If you are at 165.3db as you say you are- more power to you! Thats cool! Fact is, those are pretty impressive numbers, so naturally people are going ask some questions as to how you achieved it.- You can expect this at competitions quite a bit too. I think what Audiolife was getting at, is that many db meters can be easily thrown off by number of different things. He stated that he was just curious, so no harm done.

Just things like Mic Placement, In Car/ Outside Measurement, Voltage at testing, windows up/down, test track-etc. Things like that.......

No doubt I hope to see you sometime in the competition circuit. I compete in the IASCA Expert 601+ Sound Quality division- so no doubt, we will both likely have a few questions for each other too.

ehehe was the scale set at 80 90 100 110 120? what was it set at? and there is no way in hell you did that with 500 watts a sub unless you wanna say i did a 154 db with about 12 watts lol

you can set the mic to be or read alot higher too.....now way in heck i believe 165.3 with 1000 watts on 2 15's....so i guess im gonna just outright say it....prove it ....show us somethin other than sayin i do 189 db or somethin...the cars that do 170 + db are not daily drivers....they have stuff inside them the common idiot wouldnt know the first thing about ,,so just tell us how u figured your focus point? -can remember a guy at a contest that thought he broke the world record.....found out the meter was set toooo light. i don't have a system, nor do i have a car. I'm 16. My parents are buying me a car this weekend, then i'm having my local audio store put in 3 Audiobahn AW1500Q's with 500 watts going to each one with a Pioneer DEH-P740 for the deck. I could really careless about your system, i just can't stand people being cocky like you are. a system is not something to brag about unless you installed it, and put the time and effort to make everything perfect. Since this guy does everything for you and the snap of your fingers...what's to brag about?? that you bought 2 subs and an amp, and he installed it, and now he gives you whatever you want. That's bs...you didn't achieve anything yourself...you just payed for it. There's nothing to brag about there.

to all you big shots out there that need to reassure yourself that you know more about this shit and that you are better your the **** reason there are people like me that talk shit about there systems cause if you guys would get out get a **** job and pay for your first system and im not talkin bout a shitty one i mean buy a real **** system instead of having your **** parents buy your shit!! um and to the guy that was talkin about me getting all the shit done i do all my custom stuff i just take it to my Friend to get the shit wired i make all my amp racks and my custom boxes i install my mids and highs i just dont do the subs and amps cause i dont want to phuck something up and be out 500 bucks but you guys dont have to worry about that cause you lazy ***** out there that have everything handed to you dont have to worry about blowing shit up i just like to get things done right and leave them alone and by the way the installer is also my partner he rides to the comps with me in my truck pulling the car behind us oh yea my car isnt an everyday car its equipped with a external cd player that runs through my gas line so therefore i cant drive it but hey good call to all you wanna bes and by the way to the 16 year old how old do you think i am i turned 16 in october and tha sad thing is it took me 5 months to get where im at in spl where it will take you guys years but hey i mean you can keep talkin shit and oh yes to prove my shit go under http://www.soundoff.org im there for the gaylords audio trophy well im out peace to all the hatas

I don't want to compete in SPL. I don't know much at all about car stereos. I'm not installing mine, i just know what i want. See...you're probably wasting your high school life on your system, and these competitions, but why?? How are they going to help you later in life?? In high school you're supposed to have fun, not worry about someone's car is so much louder than yours or something like that. Just give it a break dude...cause not very many people really care for your precious trophy. Most people here just come for advice and to learn. I bet most people here don't care that you can hit that with your L7's...if you can great, but really...who cares??
