I am planning on ordering my first system here shortly all from cardomain with there 105% pricematch guarentee which has left me with some great deals:veryhapp: . Here is what I am ordering:

Kenwood KDC-628 http://www.cardomain.com/item/KENKDCMP628 normally $250for $171!

Kicker 12" Solo-baric L5 dual 4ohm http://www.cardomain.com/item/KIC05S12L54 normally $210 for $137!

All I cannot decide on is the amp. I am not sure if the ones I have picked out are too many watts or will work reliably so I don't have to worry about overpower my sub. Heres the options so far:

http://www.cardomain.com/item/KENKAC9152D normally $300 for $193

http://www.cardomain.com/item/KENKAC9102D noramlly $300 for $195

http://www.cardomain.com/item/POWA1000DB normally $199 for $169

http://www.cardomain.com/sku/PHOR801 noramlly $270 for $212

Are any of these amps good for this setup?

i've never used a kenwood amp but from what i heard they are solid. just choose the amp that is cheapest and one that will power your sub sufficiently. also it is okay to buy an amp that is over the rms of your sub. in general it is okay to go over the rms rating because a speaker can usually handle more than its rms rating. but just watch your gains on the amp and you should be fine.

where are you getting these prices from? just making sure that you are not expecting them to match a price from a non authorized dealer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

I've been using Kenwood amps of varying models for some years now. Never had one give me a moment's trouble.
The two I run currently make good power and do so cleanly (the Sigma Servo feedback loop in the eXcelon amps makes a HUGE difference but this isn't applicable to any of the ones listed by the OP...)

So you think I should go witht he kenwoods? This is my first setup so I'm not to familiar with gains....maybe I should get a control knob along with the amp also.....

What should the gain on the 9152 be set at so I don't use the extra 300watts rms?

btw: cardomaim has been excellent and all those prices have been approved and lowered by them! I decided not to get the kenwood headunit though b/c my friend just bought the same model. I think I'm gonna get he pionner deh-6700 or kenwood x789 instead
