the 2500.1's aren't a large current draw really. they're pretty efficient. depends on if you run them @ 2 ohms or 1 ohm then again.

ya from what i hear they are fairly efficent......more so than a 20.1 @ .5ohm (kx being @ 2ohms for that comparison)

now my question is how much efficency loss is there from 2 ohms to 1 ohm....

as far as yoru electrical system, id recommend at the BARE MINIMUM a battery upgrade to a yellow top or kinetik....a stock battery will melt under the stress of a 2500.1....and i doubt ur alty is gonna have fun wiht that either...

i have a 90amp alty and 2 red tops and i stay right around 12v at full tilt (by a miricle of god lol)

My lights barely dim and i only have a stock 130a alt running a kx 2500.1 @ 2ohms.

baaaaah, lost teh srews to hold myend cap in place and its destined to be installed in a week.... need to ge a new set of screws but i dunno the size and kicker doesnt know it either. i'm gonna go and buy few differant ones and eyeball it. does anyone know if thier are fine threaded or not...if ayone happpens to know the size thatd be phenominal team work.....

do you think i could get by running a kx2500.1 and a kx850.4 (rated at 1000 rms) on my electrical system which consists of a 145amp alt and optima yellowtop and big three? its running great right now with a kx1200.1 and the kx850 but i want to step up to the 2500

with a 145amp you should be fine, id get another yellow top or sell that and get a kenetik 2400 and somthing small under the hood (kenetik 600?). i have 55 less amps then you and off 2 red tops and about the same power ill stay right around 12v at full tilt, you should be ok. and thats full tilt with the kx2500.1 seeing a .7ohm load/ 1 ohm nominal, even then its still fairly efiicent, then after imp rise comes in its right where i want it, in the nieghborhood of 2ish ohms.....

no, but it was a .5, and a 1 ohm with no dimming, at full tilt (sometimes)
