i recently got an oldschool kicker free sub f12a. i stuck it in a big old box [2.8 @ 28 hz] that i had laying around. it sounds decent on some notes but i can tell its not in an optimal box. it sounds like it has great sq potential in the right vented box. i`m using an os punch 360 amp which seems fine.

has any one had any experience with the kicker f12a that would know the best vented box specs?

does a freeair sub work as a normal sub in ported box/box? or is it only designed to work as a freeair sub..... I no you can put them into a box and they do sound qite decent but I doubt your going to find any recommendations for that

i think the oldschool kicker freeair is made for ib or ported.i`ve heard that they sound nice in the right ported box. it sounds ok in the box that i have it in. i can tell that it has sq potiental if in an optimal box. proly gonna be hard to find out unless i hit it lucky
