The only time a piece of kicker equipment will have a 1 year warranty is if its installed by a kicker authorized dealer, otherwise it's 90 days.
I have the manual for one of my L7's and this is what it says verbatim:
"Kicker warranties this product to be free from defects in material and craftsmanship under normal use for a period of THREE (3) months from date of original purchase with receipt. When purchased from an Authorized Kicker Dealer it is warranties for ONE (1) YEAR from date of original purchase with receipt."
What was the authorized online retailer you purchased it from? Since the originals were refurbs you only had a 90 warranty.
Note: even if you did buy it from an authorized dealer, if the warranty is for one year (or 90 days) its only from the ORIGINAL DATE OF PURCHASE. Meaning if they send you subs and they have a defect after one year from time you bought the ORIGINAL pair, they don't have to send you another replacement. I ran into this same problem with Dell and my laptop. The original one I had crapped out under the warranty period, so they sent me another one. My warranty was then transfered over to my current (and sometimes screwed up) laptop. I didn't receive a new warranty when I got the new laptop.
Besides, if you're too idiotic to even realize when one sub is a different voice coil config (it would really mess things up), then I'd tell you to screw off. It's your own damn fault for breaking them. Plus I have my doubts that it was even mislabeled to begin with. You have no proof that it was besides saying "it was labeled wrong and I blew it up".
You fail, as always.
