Kicker Comp R independence switch

Hey guys I am a bit new to the sub culture which is why all I can afford are some kicker so don't rag on me for it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif . I want to get some more power out of these bad boys, right now I have two 10" running on a kicker cx1200. I watched an amp testing and it says it gets up to rated certified power easy and at the moment I have it wired at a 4ohm load so it says its putting out 600watts per sub and I'm satisfied but I could use some more. The independence switch on the subs switches the subs to a 1ohm load each. So my question is if I switch it to 1ohm how much power will i have going into each sub and will I risk blowing the **** out of them? by the way the amp has a peak of 2400watts. Thanks let me know, really want to try it but need some feed back!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fro.gif.c695f1f814b01c4ad99fe7f8cccadd29.gif

if you have that amp wired at a 4ohm load, each sub is only seeing 300 watts each. If you switch the amp to 1ohm, subs will see 600 each. That peak means nothing in real world. Pay no attention to that.

what type of enclousure you have? Run them ported if not already. A custom ported box that is, not some prefab

i bought the woofer and it said on the box it was a 4ohm, so I'm not sure if the switch is 2ohm to 8ohm or 4ohm to 1ohm but since it is labeled as a 4ohm woofer i assume that it is 4ohm to 1ohm but like i said I'm new to this stuff.

no manual was in the box shits fucked

okay so i see the 4 ohm model of the Comp R has the option of 2ohms or 8ohms so i have it wired for 2ohms i believe. so how much power would that be sending off the 1200watt amp to each sub? and if i switched it to 8ohms how much less power would it have. if anyone sees this let me know thanks! sorry for the confusion.
