well thanks. thats what i was looking for. i mean for 50 dollars, they sound incredible. i just was hoping i didnt get the shittiest subs out there. theyre in a prefab kicker box designed for these subs, so the box itself is working wonder for them. i want louder tho.. lol.. dont we all //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The Kicker prefab is alright.... it could use more port area and airspace. It' got a single 6" port tuned to 36 hz, iirc. make a nice box, 2 cf per chamber tuned to 34 with 30-35 sq. in. of port. they ought to sing.

If the box is made by Kicker and it has Kicker subs in it.

It will be a good product.

They make bigger and more powerful products but you can be sure the subs are in the correct air space and if ported, they are tuned correctly.

Factory matched sub and boxes are most often the right way to go.

I've never seen great results with a factory prefab. They are good, but by no means bring out the best in the sub. Usually factory prefabs compromise size and performance. The average consumer doesn't want a huge box, so they tend to make a smaller box with less port area than would be desirable. The average consumer also doesn't know the true potential of their subs, so they're fine with the performance out of a prefab.

Thats why I say factory prefabs are alright, but not anywhere near the best.

i dont like kicker comp's... my friend had some and they dident get loud at all... my L7's got somewhat loud... but then again L7 is about 4x the price of the comp's

the factory prefab boxes liek John mentioned, have a 6" aero port already on them. I've listened to several setups this way, and they sound great IMHO. Think about it, they are a SVC, lower power rated sub...if you want a simple add some bump with low power, the box actually sounds very decent.

yea i think it sounds amazing. the box was made and tuned for these subs.. im happy with my purchase. next is another 400.1, and 2 10" l5s
