ok i have had this happen to me alot just take of the bar that is holding down the the object that is burnt and pull that thing out make sure you just take out the one that is burnt make sure that the wire that run in to the sercut board are bulled loose and put the bar back down ion the ones that are still good and before you close it up; hook it up and see if it runs right and if ity does close it up and you are done. but after you do this just make sure you check yuor amp once in a will to make sure it dose't get to hot.

That mosfet looks shot, as well as that resistor. Try replacing both, then replace anything else around the burt area.
this is the better way of doing it i would suggest doing this it is just hard finding the right size mosfet for your aplication.

huh?
Just get the model # off of it, goto www.mcmelectronics.com order it.

General rule of thumb though, is when you replace 1. You should replace them all - which can be //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif .
all right i have never heard of that place because just go to radioshack but they don't have the bigger one for heat desapatioant now i know were to go.

Radioshack sucks for electronic componants. I guarentee they won't have it. Also, DO NOT run the amp short of a mosfet. It'll change the way the electronics work and could cause a total failure.

Mosfets usually have a part number printed on them. Do NOT do what maxxguy1 said about pulling out the mosfet and the wires.

One thing Radio Shack does have that will help you is a desoldering iron/solder sucker for around $15-20. Nice little tool that is basically a soldering iron with a rubber suction device to pull the solder off the board.

Oh..and let me know what Mosfet you need, as I have a bunch laying around here. You can also call Serge over at KB audio, and he will tell you alternitive mosfets that can be used in place of the burnt one, if the burnt one is hard to find or no longer made.

A whole soddering kit will run you probably $25. Get a 15-30w iron, I like the 30s. Flux, and rosen core sodder. All of THAT you can get at radioshack. You can just use a sock to wipe the liquid sodder away //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
