kicker 2500.1 questions

i just got one and im runnin it on a stock electrical system.its down to 4 ohms and i want to run it to 1 ohm.wat can i get to ran it at 1 ohm.
i can tell you, my 2500.1 will not do 1 ohm nominal (.7 ohm dcr). it will shut down and go in and out of protect at higher volumes.

its luck of the draw on whether or not yours will do 1 ohm. some will, some wont. i suggest you find out if your amp will do 1 ohm before buying any thing that will force you to run at 1 ohm.

its not a big deal to me.ill just get new subs.i wont harm the amp.wat battery should i get to help my electrial system.i have 1/0 wirirn to the amp.really no dimm at all.

Your running it @4ohms, so thats only like 1300watts, you should be fine rightnow just do the big if anything. honestly really no need for extra battery until you sell your subs and run it @2ohms..imo some may beg to differ..

What kind of battery depends on what kind of car. Will this be a primary underhood battery or a secondary battery? Let us know and you will get the answers you need. For the most part get the largest battery that will fit your stock location if thats what your replacing. Odyssey, kinetik, powermaster, batcap, etc.

isnt the kx not efficent as the zx also
they are the exact same board with minimal differances in internal components.

i've runt he kx 2500.1 at 1 ohm very hard for prologned periods of time with no problems other than it heating up. it only got really hot after 30min of hard bass.....which is impressive compared to what happens to other amps ran below rated imp really really hard for 30min. most other amps fry by that point.

you'll need a semi decent electrical. the better the electrical the better the amp will run and the more power you'll see. pay $20 and get a voltmeter for up front and make sure you stay at or above 12v. anything under 12v and you're gonna start having problems.

you can get away with a stock alty, stock bat up front, a big *** battery in the trunk, 1/0 and big 3. but you'll be pushign the limits of your cars electrical system. having a battery in the back next to the amp is extrememly helpful.

these amps are bad *** and efficent, but you need power to make power
