Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and I was hoping to find some help regarding my upcoming system, I have been around cars my whole life but this is my first time really getting into the audio aspect of it all. In my 1989 S15 Jimmy I have a 2Din 7" Kenwood touchscreen and 6 150w 6" pioneer speakers. I just ordered on amazon a Kicker C15 in a ported box and a DX 250.1 that were together for 210$. I have a little bit more in my budget but I was mainly wondering if the amp is underpowered or anything else I need to know. And if any of you can guess how it'll sound it'll be much appreciated. Here's the specs for the Sub, Box, and Amp, thanks.

Single 15" Vented Sub Box

Kicker C15 Specifications:

Kicker C15 15" Subwoofer Single 4 Ohm 250 Watts (10C15-4)

Power Handling:

Mounting Cutout: 13-11/16"

Amp Specifications:

• Kicker certified power output:

140 watts x 1 (@ 14.4V, 4Ω, ≤1% THD+N)

250 watts x 1 (@ 14.4V, 2Ω, ≤1% THD+N)

• Frequency response: 20 to 200 Hz (±1 dB)

• Input sensitivity:

Low level: 125 mV to 5V

High level: 250 mV to 10V

• Signal-to-noise ratio: >95 dB (A-weighted at rated power output)

• Crossover (switchable):

LO (fixed): 80 Hz, -24 dB/octave low-pass

The amp is definitely underpowering: 4 ohm rating being 140wrms vs the sub being rated at 250w.(It's a 4ohm sub). Also the box is too small. Kicker recommends a 3-4 cuft vented enlosure.

Enclosure Compatibility

Enclosure Versatility: The Kicker Comp subwoofer is versatile, performing in vented or sealed enclosures, and in free-air applications as well.

Sealed Enclosure Applications: A sealed enclosure design gives the smoothest response with increased energy at the lowest frequency between 20 to 30 Hz.

Compact (minimum enclosure volume): 2.25 cu/ft

SQ (maximum enclosure volume): 5.0 cu/ft

Recommended Vented Box Volume: A vented enclosure design is the choice for loud, high-performance bass for SPL contests.

Compact: 3.0 cu/ft with a 2.5" x 15.5" slot port opening that is 17.0" in depth

SQ: 4.0 cu/ft with a 3.0" x 15.5" slot port opening that is 16.25" in depth

Thank you I appreciate the reply! Is there an amp that you can recommend? And I have another box that I can use that is quite a bit bigger than this one.
