ran cvx's and currently have q's. cvx's werent all that bad but I would recommend the Q anyday over it.

Will a sealed Q produce more low-end than a ported CVX?

Also the previous post was correct...no luck with a 12 Q ported. Ran the numbers, the smallest box I produce is around 4^3; including the port.

The final tally for a ported 12 w/in 3^3 @1000w and 35Hz port:

1) SI 12 BM

2) Kicker 12 CVX

3) RE 12 SX

4) Atomics 12 Apocalypse

5) Kicker 12 L7

6) Fi Q10

Looking for earth shaking lows. What's the # 1 & 2 w/ given limitations?

Higher QTS. and good x-max on subs for good small sealed box performance, the best best contender will be the fi q you have listed. They recommend .6 sealed for optimal but, I would personally would go .8 with poly fill. Also look into the 10'' SSA ICON, you can ask denim about those.

im going through kinda the same thing. i have a nissan titan and had to decide what to go with underneith the back seat. the box has a mounting depth of 6" so i had to look around.

i ended up going with 2 10" Treo SSi subs. each sub is good in a .80 sealed box so im good there since the box will be .75 per sub...close enough i say..haha

i like the 12Q out of those choices though. reason i didnt go with the 12Q myself was cuz the mounting depth was too much or i definitely would have cuz that sub rocks

I was predicting the SI 12 BM to come out on top, but I noticed that the Q and CVX rank at the top of the list.

The Q does produce pretty good on the low bass side of things. The CVX is just as good though and just as clean, but the is just IMO.

I will be getting a CVX to run sealed as my next sub, just cause they are dirt cheap at onlinestereo.com and sound just as good as my Q and I am sure will last longer than my Q has.

I haven't messed with those, but with the rep that SI has I'm sure they'll make you happy
