Kicker 12" L7s

i just got my new Kicker 12" L7 Solo Barics in 2day and i need to know how do i break them in cuz i read on crutchfield that this guy messed his speaker up because he didnt break them in and i wanted to know if anyone has heard anything like that and how would i go about breaking them in?

They will naturally break in on their own. I still wouldn't play them to their full potential at first though.

dont break them in.. my friends all have broken their subs in.. and they end up blowin the subs..

on the other hand, ive never really broken one in liek you should and i have yet to blow a sub.

breaking subs in doesnt have any effect on them blowing. distortion does.

so yeah if you want play them at liek half volume for a day or two.. and yeah itll improve your sound probably, but as was stated before subs break themselves in naturally

if you spend more than 2 days "breaking them in" youre wanting your time

i dont know much about the "break in" process, but definately dont push them on a cold starting day and do the usual caution of watching the gain, clipping and distortion.

my one 15'' l7 with 1200wrms didnt need broke in....................... or did it? hmmmmm it may be even louder if i didnt push it so hard when i hooked it up

play moderate levels for a day or so, then let it hammer, break in just loosens the suspension up...
