This will be my first sub so I want to hear some opinions! My friend has a pair of 07 comp VRs and they bang but I really only want one sub due to my car being a Ford Ranger ext cab. I want to be able to feel the bass and shake my windows, but I would like good SQ. Thanks!

no

SA-12, VVX-12, obsidian 12, or Powerbass L-12, the SA and VVX are a pretty penny more but are well worth it

or my HDC3 10" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I would take the prior advice and check out the SA audio or other brands you or I'd look at JL 12W3 I have a 10CVX 10-2 now that is a lil beast. Im actually selling it if your interested but Im not here to push it. Im actually thinking of switching my L7 8's to either the Skar MA-8's or SA-8 from Sundown. Ive had the older W-0 there more in line with the base Comps from kicker the CVR is closer to the W3's
$150 right now, which is why i'm looking at the 10cvr124. Hows the sq on it?
for 150 you can do waaaaaaaay better. @hispls ; can build you something really nice, that will handle more power and abuse than most new mass-market subs will for that price.

How much you want for it? For the right price I'd take it off your hands in a flash!

And i'll go check out Obsidian!

If you go with the guy I mentioned above, you will get a 3" coiled sub, made with quality parts, hand built by a good american dude. Better than a chinese-made, 2.5" voice coil, sub. Here's a video of mine taking almost 2,000 watts.

Mine cost around than $190, I've seen other subs built by him go for less if you are stuck at 150.

True. Depending on the size/parts/coil/basket I use I can get something out for less.
