Kicker 10" L7? ASAP...

I currently own a 10" W6v2 but I'm not very impressed. So I was thinking about going with a Kicker L7 10". Is that a bad move? I want loudness but I don't want to sacrifice too much sound quality. I have the JL in a sealed enclosure (Net Interior Volume of 0.625cf as listed on JL site). I heard my friends W6 in a ported enclosure and it sounded muddy so I went ahead and put mine in a sealed built to spec. I was wondering if the Kicker would hit all the ranges, not just the low. I want it to also hit the mids. Someone with experience or any advice please fill me in with some quality info. I wouldn't say that the L7 is a poopy sounding sub, but it's not going to compare to a w6 in sq. If you want decent sound out of it but it in a decently large box and tune low.

Agreed, get it put in a JL specified ported enclosure and you should like the additional output you receive. If that's not enough, run a single 12.

how much power are you running two of the JL's, i have 2 of them in .65 each running on a jbl gto1200.1 and gets real loud and sounds real good. i have a 10 l7 in my wifes and i gets loud but it doesn't sound as clean as the jl w6

I'm only running one 10W6v2 not two. Well I bought a cheap amp (Directed D800) because I was low on cash and resources because Guam doesn't have the best car audio selection. I'm running the sub on a 2ohm load so it's getting roughly 300 watts x 1 (2 ohm). Yeah, I thought about it and I'll just put the sub in a ported box and save up some money to buy a better amp. Is there something else that I can purchase besides a JL Audio 500/1 for $500 bucks that'll give me clean, sufficient RMS? Have any ideas for an additional amp that I could look at? Thanks for the info...

Yes, this is why I got rid of my 12" Solo-Baric and got the Rl-P. Smaller box ftw.

Should I stuff my ported enclosure for the W6? No right, I shouldn't need to. I'm going with a box that's slightly bigger than what JL Audio recommends.
