I decided on a pre loaded box from kicker ive always wanted to try out there subs this is the model -

http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?g=510&i=2067DCVR10&search=Kicker+VENDORID206&searchdisplay=Kicker&tp=112

The 10'' and 12'' models have the same performance specs just different height, width, and weight.

My question is what is the better choice here i want something that will hit really hard and sound clean are 12''s really that much better then 10''s ?

This is the amp i am choosing to run whatever model i choose which should be more then enough to power these baby's unless there is something better you guys recommend for the money -

I am running a 4 guage Scosche amp kit with Street Wire zero noise patch cables to power this system FYI.

This is going in the trunk of a 06 Civic Si thanks for any help in advance.

1) You can find better subs and have someone on here build you a box for cheaper than those loaded enclosures.

2) You can find a better amp than the mtx for that money (look in the classifieds they are always some good deals).

Before you go buy do some research. You have $700+ for an mtx thunder amp, 2 kicker cvr subs, and a kicker prefab box. IMO you can find much better equipment for $700 if you just search a little more before you decide to buy.

I will do some more research then this week i was told these kickers subs were great and that MTX amp seems like a beast and they are top notch in the car audio world. I might have a problem fitting the 12'' loaded box in my trunk i will have to measure i will look around some more though thanks guys.

just to give you an idea.....The atomic 3000.1 and 10" SoloX in my sig i got off here for around $800 and i think both those are a little bigger than what you are looking for so i dont see any problem getting under $700 for what you are looking for.

Just browse the forums for a week or so and you should have several good subs and amps to choose from. And once you find a sub or amp you are interested in search it in the amp or sub section of the forum to see what other people are saying about them. This forum can be an invaluable resource especially when you are starting to build your system and have only heard of "main stream" name brands.

I had last years Kicker cvr's in 15" two of em in a expedition with a hifonics 1500 watt amp. They pounded. But there are far better speakers for the money. I just upgraded to the solo barics. Ebay man ebay much cheaper or buy from here. Lots of good deals and guys.
