Fi Q vs IDMax 12"

hey

which sub would be better for SQL purpose, but more in the SQ side?

im planning to run it off a Cadence TXA-1000D amp, unless you have a better idea

im also buying the Image Dynamics XS-65 Comps, and run them off a Cadence ZRS-1502 amp

I had an IDMAX 12 in 1.25 sealed off of only 500w and it sounded amazing. Great SQ and still got low & loud.

IDMax is, imo, a better sub. And you are comparing a 12" IDMax to a 10" Q. Pretty obvious choice.

yah but the idmax still sounded better at all range of the freq, where the Q is more bottom heavy

ive had a 15" q on 1kw and it was loud as piss. never heard the max , but from what ive read , theyre excellent woofers.

ill make an educated assumption and say the Q can get louder and handle more power with ease , but the max will sound ALOT better.

sorry, but that's called a blind assumption, not an educated guess. These threads frustrate me to no end and have more to do with brand stereotyping that results.

most differences people observer are

A: alignment differences based o frequency response (such as the "bottom heavy" comment)

B: blind assumption differences based on threads like these

had both in a vented enclosure same enclosure 2.5 @ 30hz. net. ill take the q. both saww 1000

i would choose the idmax in a sealed alignment

i have owned a 10" Q and tried it in all sorts of boxes. I really liked it ported because it was loud and i mean it sounded fine....

I currently own a 12idmax, but i have only ran it sealed up. I like the sound of it WAY better than the Q. I dont understand really why the Q is known as a SQ type sub.
