kick panels - tweeters only?

I was thinking....
What if, for a set of components, you put the woofer in the door, and just put the tweeters in the kick area, aimed at you?

Can most-definitely avoid fiberglassing...and would be a lot easier...thoughts?
I have been wondering aobut this my self. the only thing i can see wrong with it is the seperation of the two speakers. I think you would have to try it and see if you like it. I hope some one with some experiance in the voices up.

yea...I wish I could try, but I still need to try to mdf mount my woofers in the doors first. I think it wouldn't give as good an image as both being in the kick panels, but aren't the tweeters the ones that are supposed to be like 75% (wild guess) of what gives a good image?

I've run my midranges in my factory door locations but just paid really close attention to how I have my tweeters. I ran them by the A pillars on my dash and it sounded great. As the frequencies get lower, the amount they are off-axis matters less and less... Just point those tweeters in the right spot, and crossover your mids so they don't play high frequencies.

Play around with the locations, you'd be surprised how good of sound you can achieve in some unlikely locations. Trial and error is key. Cheaper than buying new equipment, and better/faster results!

nope, its the midrange that gives most info of how the system images. you can try put the midrange in the kicks with towel around it and compare it to when they are in the doors. see how much difference it makes.

That's a good question. My vehicle has a stock tweet location that is high in the door. I bought a set of those CDTs from thezeb and got the additional "image" tweeters. I was wondering if I could put the "main" tweeter in the kick panel (closer to the mid in the door) and the "image" tweeter up higher in the stock location.

That's exactly how there supposed to be used.
