there used to be a site, I forget the site addy but .. it had detailed pics/steps to successful kerfing and as far as I remember, someone on roe had made the site to help others. since i'm wanting to give it a try for my setup, anyone by chance know a site/tutorial page with pics and such on it?

ugh i've been out of the game too long //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

sidenote: just noticed I put this in subwoofer section, didn't really think about where it should go at the time so if it's in the wrong section, ...well who cares blah.

If you need help, let me know. Its super easy to do. Just try a few test pieces first. I can't remember how deep i made the cuts for sure. I think it was around 11/16 down, and space them 3/8 of an inch apart. I just cut a circle at the radius for the bend i wanted, set it where i wanted the bend, and measured the distance between cuts out and marked them on my piece of mdf, if that makes sense.

Yeah Ive seen some similar log. Kerfing is alot easier to do that I expected. Just make a bunch of cuts until you are able to get the curve you want. The cuts should go nearly all the way through. Shallow cuts wont be able to bend.

A table saw works wonders.

I think it would be better to simply glue a stack of boards together and cut them (then sand). The reason you use MDF is because the thicker and more dense the wood the less it vibrates. And a 1/8'' space with some glue behind it obviously isn't that dense or thick... The method I mentioned would leave you with a much thicker kerf.

not to mention the weight and increased cost. You fiberglass behind the kerf, not glue. Mine was fine, it was in a box with a lvl 5 with a saz3500 going to it. Didnt flex at all

I was actually looking for this the other day on ROE since I came across it quite some time ago.. I just went back to look and the post is still there but the info is not.. I read down a little and it appears the guy that made it Hugh G. Rection was banned and deleted most of his posts before he got banned... Flared Slot Port 101 - Realm of Excursion

Edit: It appears that this is a different guide but people talk about the old guide a few posts later.

just an update: I wanted to thank everyone whom helped and offered help //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I had an idea it was ben whom made that stuff but forgot when he was banned he took it down. It came back to me just as I was reading the post about it being him whom originally talked about it.
