Kerfing experiments with Jman *pics*

I got bored this afternoon, and I've always wanted to learn how to kerf MDF, so I decided to give it a shot just for the heck of it.

I set the blade almost as high as the MDF, leaving about 1/8" and ran the MDF over the blade for 4", with 1/2" intervals.

Is that to deep...for other that have done it...or is the back normal to look like that?

For MDF it is normal...hardwood plywood is a little different.

From my experience with Kerfing...MDF is more difficult to kerf than a hardwood like birch. There is a fine line between it bending and it cracking/breaking. And with MDF you will have those lines on the backside of the curve.
