And there's nothing really special I do when calculating for a flared port...I just start the length of the port at about halfway through the flared/kerfed portion.
It really helps to have google sketch-up downloaded or a program like it so you can draw it out...then find the length of the outside of the board in the kerfed portion, then subtract the length of the inside of the board in the kerfed portion and then devide that by the width of the saw blade and you have how many cuts you'll have to make to make it perfect and you then can do the math to space them across the area of the kerf to make it even //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
And it doesn't really effect much other than reducing the chance for port noise and look nice
