I have no hands-on experience with the X590 but the one from a few years previous, the KDC-X569, I do have experience with.

^ The 789 is generally considered to be a solid unit... what do you dislike about it?

The 590 is also a very solid unit for the price, but IMO I would rather it be less expensive and lose the USB input and gain a motorized face...

i love the USB thing. I'm going to buy a little 6GB USB harddrive and put alot of songs on it. The only thing i don't like about it is that you can't see anything in the sun. Period.

Other then that, it's great.

i love this unit, I was not a big fan of the joystick thing at fisrt but i am getting used to it after about a month....... The usb thing is nice. only thing i cant figure out is how the heck do i get it out of demo mode!?!? anyone know?

The manual does tell you how to take it out of demo mode. It took me a few days to get there but I did. Just keep plaing with it.
