Kenwood Mono Amp Protecting

I have this Kenwood 9104d that when pushing hard for a few minutes, typical length of a bass test it will go into protect. I have it running on 4 gauge cable and a 1 farad cap.

Grounds are in a decent spot as well. Going to try it in my new vehicle but it's been tested in another truck with 0 gauge and different subs.

Anyone care to enlighten me on why it is still protecting?

Toss it in the trash and buy a real amp.
You know it is bad when the local Kenwood dealer says their amps are garbage! About every 6 months of so that shop sells their Kenwood amps and speakers for cost plus 10%! The only reason they even buy the amps and speakers is because they are forced to purchase a certain level of product just to carry the Kenwood head units.
