How much difference does running active make? And if you do it can you still run rear fill?
Well running active is tough, but if u know what your doing it can be night and day. I dont know what Im doing so I just run passive. As for rear fill, I believe u can still have rear fill, but I am not totally positive. How much difference does running active make? And if you do it can you still run rear fill?
Takes forever getting the frequency crossovers right, as well as the slopes, etc.Why is it tough?
There's a lot that goes into it, not using the passive crossovers with the speakers, I.E picture a 4 channel amp with active cross over capabilities. Why is it tough?
No prob bro. I actually just got finished gutting all my wire. Excited to get my new system put in. Havent had tunes for 9 months!so might have some more questions if I go that route then lol. Thanks Grimy you're really helpful
U dont need an active amp with the 80PRS.There's a lot that goes into it, not using the passive crossovers with the speakers, I.E picture a 4 channel amp with active cross over capabilities.
First 2 channels are used for your Tweeters with the filter being set to High pass and you adjust the freq. it plays.
The last 2 channels are used for your mid range set to the FULL filter and adjust the freq. accordingly.
Then you'd use another amp for you subwoofer.
Rear fill isn't used much/often when running active.
It's sometimes narrowed down to popularity contests; I'd still recommend the SK85.4 and the new SKAR Audio components.Looks like I'm getting the 80PRS for sure, now I just gotta make up my mind on amps and speakers lol oh why do they have to make so many lol
IIRC about a year or so.How long has Skar been around I've heard of them but know nothing about them
