Kenwood headunit max volume clean?

I feel at 75% I'm not getting the full use of the headunit, I decided to use 28/35 instead of 30.
Its like this. Lets say you your headunit is rated for 10volt preouts and your volume goes from 1-10. At 7 your voltage would be 7 volts. So ratio wise 28/35 would 28/35th(which is also 75% ) of whatever your headunits voltage out is.

So at 75 percent volume. Your at 75% of your rated voltage. Lets say that ends up being 3 volts of 5 volt out. 3 volts would be where you matched your gains on your amp.

Really what your doing is finding your max voltage out before distortion becomes an issue. Technically with a sensitive enough amp, you could have max outout at 5/35 volume.

Now im not sure if distortion from headunits come from going past rated voltage or s/n ratio at max voltage. Something like that but I think thats how it goes.
