Kenwood head unit?

Hey guys. new here and would like to say hello to everyone. been into car audio and doing installations for others for about 25 yrs. not full time. just as a hobby.

But here's my question. I recently bought a Kenwood KDC-X589 and haven't got it from being shipped yet though. but is this head unit a pretty good one? just like to know some opinions. thanks guys, David

You bought the 598 or 589? I have a BT558U and I love it. The 598 is very similar but it has 4volt preouts.

I have been with alpine for years but I couldn't walk away from a deal of 200 bucks for a DNX990HD which I love. All the kenwoods I have installed have been great. The older models were sluggish but some firmware upgrades have fixed those problems.

i have a alpine cda-117.left rcas on back of head unit just went out.alpine says they have a flat rate price of any internal issues they will repair for 95.00 plus shipping.i have the hd module and the bluetooth module for the 117.in your opinion should i go with this fix or my other option was to go witha new kenwood KDX-8998?thanks for opinions.im guessing with shipping both ways im looking at 140.00 for alpine and 200.00 for new kenwood with everything built in and not all the wiring and modules on the alpine.i have heard alot of good things about the sound quality of the 117 but i have also heard the new kenwoods have come a long way and sound amazing.you guys exp. would REALLY HELP ME.so please let me know your pro opinions....BRAD

I like the older kenwoods. I run a x891 in my truck. I bought the new top dog kenwood last year and had it in my truck for a week and then put my old school x891 back in.
