kenwood dnx 8120 dual mode

I used to have a pioneer and i could watch the dvd but have the ipod audio going, I can't figure out how to do this on this unit. I tried to go into the dual mode but I could only get either the front or the rear to go to the ipod audio but not both... what am i doing wrong or can this unit not do this. Thanks.
