Kangaroux's 99 Pathfinder

Went ahead and put the extra deadener I had on my roof, put some foam to help stop that annoying headliner slap I was getting, sealed up every corner in my box with some liquid nails and mounted the 4 channel to my box. A combo of the extra deadener preventing some flex and sealing up the box made the setup a LOT louder. Should hold me off until I get the bandpass lol

My camera died so I haven't been able to take pics....TBH I didn't even think of taking pics anyways lol. I can get a pic of the 4 channel mounted. I haven't bothered to clean up any of the wiring because this box is temp and when I get the bandpass in my back seats are going out so everything is going to be installed different. Only mounted the 4ch so I could keep my back seats up and still have the box be ~8" from the hatch

Slow moving build as of late since I have hardly any cash to work with. Trying to sell off my RUB4.500 so I can afford some other things in the build, mainly materials for a new box, false floor and an extra battery.

I had an air leak around my sub that's been bugging me quite a bit. Anything below 30hz and it was very obvious. Picked up a roll of duct tape and went around the gasket and sealed it all off. Took about 10 minutes to do, and while it may not be the prettiest alternative (I would have preferred to put weatherstripping under the gasket) it got the job done for sure.

Got bored so I started stripping the back of the pathy. By the time I really started getting into it it got dark, but these are some pics of what I got done so far.

Pulled the box out

Got the amps unplugged (I took out the fuse in the front don't worry)

Back seats and carpet out (the backseats are a huge pain to get out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif)

There was a ton of gross **** all over the floor so I got that cleaned up (even if it's going to be covered I would have still known it would have been messy underneath...)

The quarterpanels were getting in the way of the frame so I had to cut it out with an exacto-knife, a flat head and a hammer. That plastic is definitely harder than I though it would be lol

Perfect

Quick test fitting for some pieces I had cut earlier (the boards are 52" wide, yet I can only fit 37.5" for a box width...meh)

And lastly this is the mess I'm going to have to attend to tomorrow

Been busy with other stuff so I really haven't touched the false floor any...got a couple more pieces on but that's about it

Also, for future reference, with essentially the back of the vehicle stripped this is the current ride height. I'll post a picture once everything is done and in and see how much it changed (if any)

measure it with a tape measure ya ho

Well, since I won an Obsidian Audio 12, I'm thinking of switching things up. I'm still going to do a bandpass, but now I want to sell the 18 and get 2 more OA-12s. Not sure if I want to do 3 or 4 because I don't exactly have the power for 4, but I'll definitely be running at least 3. If I beef up my electrical some so I can get the most out of that 2200 then I'll consider adding a 4th OA-12.

I'd run the single one in a 4th then see how many you think you will need. It will give you a base line rather then shooting in the dark.
I'm looking to get loud and low so the more cone area the better. I'll be building a fourth for the single 12 just to see how it sounds (this will also be my first bandpass setup so it will be some good practice I think). With that I'll be able to tweak it much easier because it will be a smaller enclosure. Once I get it to how I like it, adding more subs will be a breeze because I just scale everything up.

If you're planning on ending up with multiple woofers let me know if you want the D2 or a D4, as I have one of each at the shop right now. If you want a D4 instead be sure to email me (subs@obsidiancaraudio.com) before end of day tomorrow.

Won't have cash right this second, gotta get my 18 sold first.
