K&B Repairs

I have an MTX 801D that needs repairs. MTX repairs the outside as well as possible including a new emblem. Does K&B do the same kind of repairs? MTX is $20.00 more but they will replace the Emblem (mine is scratched up).

As far as I know, KB just repairs the internal damage. If cosmetics are important to you, it may be in your best interests to send it to MTX.

MTX won't repair the amp.... they'll just put in a new board.... which = new amp...

I think refurbishing it is just repairing the damage.

Id definitely go with MTX if they will put a new board in it.

I'm willing to bet K&B doesn't replace boards... just a guess though... they could.... but I HIGHLY doubt it...

Nope, they don't. Like...if Sergey can't repair it...they'll let you know.

While Sergey is definitely one of the top 3 guys I'd want fixing my amp, he's not going to be able to give you a new heatsink...

In this case, you should probably send it back to MTX -- especially if it's not that much more expensive. If not, you could always get K&B to fix it and scour ebay for a heatsink...

It looks like it will be MTX. Nothing against K&B I'm sure they do good work from everything i read about them. But how can you beat a new circuit board for only $20 more. Thanks guys for all the help.
