Hmmm...but dont the up/down arrow buttons switch to the next folder? I have my music organized like this: http://ungraphic.com/stuff/folder_structure.jpgI've only used a 30gb ipod and a 1gb flash drive with it. I'd say its pretty quick, faster then my pioneer deh-4900.
Pretty soon I'll be switching to an external hard drive though because I like the way it navigates those better then the ipods. With the ipod, when you click menu it brings you to the "playlist/artist/album..." menu which I don't like. But with the hard drive it just brings you into the folder you are currently in which is great for me because usually I just want to swtich albums within an artist
Actually I've never tried that. I always just push the Menu button (to the right of the up arrow button) and that brings up the files in the folder you are currently in. It displays 3 file names at a time and then you can use the volume knob to go up/down through the files.Hmmm...but dont the up/down arrow buttons switch to the next folder? I tested the KD-R810 and pressing the up/down arrow buttons just skipped to the next folder relevant to the folder hierarchy, basically, it just goes to either the next disc number folder, or if its a single disc album, it goes to the next album of an artist and if its the last album in the alphabetical list, it goes to the next artist and so on and so forth (pretty simple and really logical, so much better than how the sonys, alpines, pioneers etc handle it all).
Hmm. Man, i'm on the fence, i can either replace my Alpine CDA-117 for a new unit, or go to the JVC KD-R900. But what I really want is the unit to scroll through lists and items THIS fast:Actually I've never tried that. Pressing the back button then goes back a folder. Arrow keys are cool though, I'll have to try that.
EDIT: ^^ That's for a flash drive
Three settings? Thats interesting. But how do the high and low settings differ from eachother? Is it power output? Like instead of 50wattsx4, it becomes 25x4 or something? Thats.....a little weird....The internal amp has three settings: high, low, and off.
I believe the point of it is just like you said, mine is turned off because I am using only external amps
yes, but I don't know how to do that......I should find out....can you control the ipod with the actual ipod? like is the deck ipod control the only way to use the ipod?
ya you should figure it out. i think im pretty set on this deck. sometimes i like to just use the ipod to control everything so that is def one thing i want to find out.yes, but I don't know how to do that......I should find out....
