JVC KD-G420 Help

Is this a new unit? (I know very little about JVC's decks so that model number means little to me - I do not know if it is a recent model or not) Or have you had it awhile or possibly bought it used?

If it is fairly used whether by you or someone else then i would suggest it needs a good clean or possibly have the laser re-aligned.

It is new-ish then possibly there is an issue with the method in which you are burning your .mp3 files to disc, maybe?

It's a brand new unit from Best Buy. I haven't tried any solutions yet. I'm thinking that I use these shitty Officemax brand CD-Rs, maybe I should get a better quality CD-R. The beginning of the CD plays perfectly fine with no skipping or distortion, but as you get to later folders, it gets worse and worse. Is there another method of writing MP3s that I should be using? Could it be the temperature in the car?

What burning utility do you use? I wouldn't think that the ambient temperature would have much to do with it - I live in Shreveport and it gets as hot here as it does in Houston and it has never posed a problem for me before...

Might be the media. I have the same deck in a boat. It doesn't like tdk cd's either. But I have no problems from it with Imation cds. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I had this problem with my jvc hu and all i did was start buring your files at half the speedyou were before.

when I did this I had no trouble again.

I was buring at 16x, now i burn at 8x.

I'm usinf office depot cd's and i usually buy whatever is cheap.
