I just installed the Jensen VM9311TS and it is nice. Has a hideaway unit that hooks up other monitors, XM, and iPod.. it even charges it!

When you try and view video, you are supposed to have the parking brake on...

Not anymore!

I got the installer to put in a switch that makes the headunit "think" that the parking brake is on.

When you hook up the iPod, the keys and screen are no longer usable

So i decided to put it in the glovebox so I can lock it and leave it when I am not using it.

Some other pictures..

I am also working on the headrests, putting monitors in each. Also have a reverse camera on the way for my video input on the headunit, because I don't think I will be putting in a game console. Any recommendations on where I should put the camera??

Let me know what you all think (about the camera and the overall install)...

see i dont know how jensen manage to make such great integrated controls with the ipod, even play the ipod videos from the HUs yet better companies like Pioneer or JVC or alpine can only play the music from the ipod

It's a nice unit. I have the problem with the volume knob but whatever. Lots of features packed into a very easy to use unit. I like it.
Thanks for the heads-up with the knob. I'm going to use the remote when I can to make the knob last. Know of any way to replace it when it does go bad?

look here and u wont need that switch anymore it works for all the jensen flipoutshttp://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/4/278797.html
Thanks. I bookmarked that page, but I haven't decided if I want to use it yet. I like how you can still turn it off like if the cops pull me over or something. I know I could just hit the close button, but if he said he saw the video going i can just flip the switch and say you must've seen this blue screen!

I have been debating getting that unit come spring, looking for a cheap video solution.
People that have had this, any skipping problems?
I haven't had any so far, but only had unit about a week.

My roommate burned Talladega Nights in MPEG4 format onto a DVD for me to try out. It worked, and it only looked like it was using about 1/4 of the DVD, so I can fit a couple more movies on there. The only problem is, when I turned off the car and got back in, the DVD started over from the beginning. Any suggestions on how to burn (i.e. what program, what format, what kind fo disc, etc.) these DVDs so that they will pick up from the same spot when you restart the car?? When I burned a DVD with a bunch of music videos, it did not do this, it picked up where it left off, but I burned this in DVD format, not MPEG4.
