Just Great Now What!!

I've told you twice already.
The master/slave switch is if you are strapping two amps together

Only put the RCA's on the "input" and set the switch to "master"

wow you were able to understand that jibberish? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

If you set your gains at 30 on the HU, at 31-35 you may be clipping
the cd player volume is at 30 and bass on the cd player is off so if i turn it up more than 30 will it be ok it only goes to 35. The jl gainsetting guide sais to set the volume at 3/4! mines a little more! My grammer is fine.. I couldnt understand the other guy screaming chinese about the slave and master settings. Lol.

JL's gain setting says 3/4's and it is stupid of them. You should have set the gain on the max volume that you would normally play your HU. If you turn it up more than what you had it at when you set the gain then you are defeating the purpose of setting your gain properly and could clip the amplifier which will eventually fry it and possibly your subs.

What load are you running the amp at?

Usually 32 33 last time i did this i got yelled at for being a ****ing idiot for tuning it like that. But oh well, 3.4 would be like 27 or 28 i figured 32 or 33 would be fine..

what deck do you have? the purpose of gaon setting is too match voltage. now turning the deck to 33 out of 35, i almost gauruntee the deck is clipping. turn it down to 26-28. set your gains and be done with it. i assume this is what we are talking about but i cannot understand you. turn all kinds of processing to off and keep your eq to flat.

So you plan on listening to it everyday with the volume to 32-33 if so set the gain there if not turn everything to where you like it then set the gain. gain is set at normal listening level

You are correct my HU doesnt clip untill 33. But what if the sub isnt loud enough at 27-28. Last time i tuned it to 32 on the HU had the sub tuned to 43ACV and it didnt even sound loud at all you could barely hear it. Thats why i sent them both back so hopefully this time it will be different.

what deck is it? it is rare for a deck not to clip at that high of volume. if you set the gains properly at 27-28 volume, the amp should still produce the same wattage. all a gain does is match the source because so many sources are different, you need to adjust them.
