Just got the new BXi2607d

well here it is. it powered a 15'' R @ 1 ohm. installed it in my friends car and about 2 hours later he called me up telling me he blew the sub showing off to come kids. he is going to do 2 12'' R's next i believe. i have owned every amp in the bxi series and this one i would have to say is built more solid. the bass remote is nicer because the light on it is not so bright and of course this amp is now strappable.

it puts out 2600 @ 1 ohms. the R can handle the power if he were smart. each one of my 12'' R's is getting 2k right now.

x2 on getting rid of the bass remote. With the bass remote plugged into my BXi i had, ive always had problems. Made my subs make a terrible noise, or they would not get as loud as before but get hotter than a *****

So with the Hifonics bxi amps it's better to just keep the remote bass control out of the picture? I just ordered my 1206D and I'll be hooking it up next week when it gets here so it's a good thing I found this thread

Or is it overrated to a slight degree like so many HiFonics monblocks that have come before it?

well i would assume that the amp is over rated. with the hifoinics bass remotes +18 or all the way turned up is the same thing as not having the bass remote plugged in. i have had problems with shorts in the bass remotes. thats why it will make that noise.

IMO it is never good to use the bass knob, that translates to bass boost which kills woofers. Just my opinion though.
