For some reason Kickers get explosively loud in applications in which tuning freq is around 36-42hz, but I'm trying to stay on edge to where I have some low extension, but the insanity L7s can deliver. I can still stay +2dB at 40hz, +3.6dB at 45hz,+4.71dB at 50hz, +5.3dB at 55hz, +5.4dB at 60hz, +5.25dB at 65hz, +5dB at 70hz.... and so on. If I tune around 34hz, my response immediately drops to a max of +3dB or so around 50-55hz.

You know, not everyone listens to music that peaks in that area.I know, I actually like the sound of a 38-40hz tuning when listening to rock/metal/SOME rap.But for most part, rap sounds like donkey ballz on it.But I hardly listen to rap, so meh.

You're not factoring cabin gain or impedence rise into your little numbers.

True, I've looked at impedence rise though, it's largest around 55hz. I'd say 75% of rap tends to be in the 40-65hz range. I'm guessing I'd be alright to listen to rap, because that's all I listen to in my car.

My friend has 2 12" Directed subs off an RF 1001bd amp in a 3.0 cubic foot enclosure tuned to 40hz and it doesn't honestly sound terrible. It doesn't get too low, but it's loud and doens't sound like crap.

You dont know what your impedance rise actually is, until you clamp it.

Graphs and such in enclosure calculators are hardly accurate, so dont rely on those numbers...
