I just purchased and installed some pioneer a series components. Which is there lowest end component. i got them for 84 shipped on ebay msrp from pioneer is like 150ish. They can take 50w rms right now i do not have them amped. They fit the bill perfect for what i was looking for. They are much louder than my stock speakers and i get a much clearer output as well, i can hear much more detail in the music. I know this is the low level and i dont know what real clean sound is. yada yada yada. All i can say is that for a low budget speaker as a replacement for a stock speaker. Like many say it does lack some mid-range so it can sound a bit thin at times. My sub does a good job of takeing care of this and hopefully my 6x9s (ts-a6993r) that are coming tomorrow which are five ways coaxils do this as well. i need to adjust the 7 band eq on my deck too. My one question is that though the sound is by far better, when i get to the top 1/8 or so on my volume i start to get a bit of distortion. This is on like 55 or more out of 62 on the volume. Some songs are better than others and i can take it higher but will this go away and will volume increase with a clean sound with the addition of an amplifier? They can handle 50rms and the deck is like 25rms or something. its a pioneer deck by the way, Deh510ub. I assume that bumping it to 50rms it will definitly get louder but should it be cleaner at higher volumes than with the deck?

thanks for the help

set the highpass filter to say 80hz or above, that sould make a difference
it is set to 80 its just the music quality with a bit of my mp3s and distortion from the av line. I get almost perfect sound with cds. It is good to hear that they will get better with an amp. I figured as much, just wasnt sure. i just got my 6x9 today and installed them. Everything is so much better.
