PPI 365cs tweeter question

My PPI 356cs set was delivered yesterday and this really is an amazing component set (and I haven't even heard them yet). It is amazing that you can get a set like this for $140. It really feels like a steal. The crossovers blow me away.

I was planning on putting the PPI 356cs tweeter in the factory mount for my car (2010 Subaru Forester). The factory mounts take 1" tweeters. They look like this:

As those of you that have this set know the tweeter is mounted in a frame with a grill. It looks like there is epoxy or similar material holding the 1" tweeter in place. Has anyone here removed the tweeter from this frame? I'm very wary of trying this unless I'm sure I will not damage the tweeter. Thanks!

can't you remove the whole part and then push/unhook the tweeter from behind?
I'm not quite sure what you are asking. The tweeters are in the part with grill. They are fastened in there with epoxy, glue, or some other type of material. I only want the 1" tweeters (without the grill part). I'm not talking about the 5 different mounts that came with set.

I have sent an e-mail to Precision Power to see if I can attempt to get tweeters out of these frames. I would probably try prying them out with a screwdriver. I just don't want to damage the tweeters. I also asked them if I can't do this if I can exchange them just for the 1" tweeters.

Thanks!

We need some clarification. Apparently my tweeters are different than XaznKewLguyX and Xprime4 tweeters. I can not remove grill on mine and tweeter is very secure in the frame. The magnet of the tweeter is about 1 1/4 inches in diameter and the frame is about 1 3/4 inches wide. I was hoping I could take the tweeter itself out of the frame. I cannot fit this 1 3/4 inch part into my factory tweeter mount. Here are some front and back pictures which include the silver tool that I think XaznKewLguyX was referring to:

same exact one.
to remove the "stock" mounting, you need to push a little from the back then turn the tweeter clockwise if i remember well. It's pretty easy

I think he has already done that. I believe that he is asking if he can remove the plastic casing of the tweeter and the metal grill.

I dont think you can and I would not reccomend it.

Exactly. Thanks for clarifying. I'm trying to figure out if I can get the casing and grill off the pictured tweeter. Has anyone that has this set been able to get tweeter further disassembled than what I have pictured? I have tried getting off the grill and it does not come off by rotating or any other means. I'm starting to believe it is not possible. If you look closely at underside picture you can see that is fastened with some kind of adhesive or epoxy. There are places in my car that I can mount so it is not a huge deal.

Thanks!

Trying to disassemble the casing would most likely end in damage to the tweeter looking at how they have these glued in there.

My advice, mount it somewhere else since you already have some other options and blast em'. They sound really good.

Thanks. I agree. I'm not going to risk it. I will mount elsewhere. I also did reach a tech at at Precision Power and he also told me I should not try it. I'm looking very forward to listening to them. I have had my new car for over a month and the factory sound system sucks...
