Hey guys.....so i just recieved my new amp....its a AQ1200d.....and im running two 12"JLw6v2s......but im such a noob i need help setting the filters and what not......i have no idea what to set the subsonic filter to.....or the lowpass or the bass boost......or the gain for that matter......so any help you guys could give would be great!!

i have a sealed box at the moment...but im building a ported box this weekend it will be tuned to 32hz......or at least i hope so......but i did leave the SSF off...but i need help with all the other settings.....particulary someone who has the amp themselves...but other inputs would be much appreciated!

Thanks Guys

if your that much of a noob, atleast your burning up good isht;) set your ssf to your subs Fs or a little lower. search for the gain setting tutorial, and use it!!

I have the 2200D. I think my gain and bass boost is 3/4. SSF is around 35-40HZ (Box is 4.25 @38) I am powering on 15 inch AQ HDC3 and I control the gain by the remote knob. It's usually slightly up or all the way down. I know my settings aren't the best, but they work for me.

The amp has a clipping indicator so you will know if you're doing it wrong.

ok.....how about head unit settings.....i have a older alpine its a CDA 9851......i can change bass frequencies and what not....it has BBE....whitch i think is bass boost equalizer....i have that at BBE2....should i turn all that crap off...should i turn defeat on?....if someone could maybe tell me their alpine HU settings maybe that would help......

http://www.fixya.com/support/p198790-alpine_cda_9851_cd_player/manual-2108/page-30 that is the link to the specs on my head unit.....it says maximum pre-output voltage 2v/10k ohms.....correct me if im wrong, but is that what i should be shooting for on my gain knob? 2v? thats what i took from those forums....i dont have a dmm, but the bass remote that came with the amp (it controls the gain once you set the gain you can use the knob to turn it down but not up any higher then what u set it for on the amp itself) also has a Clipping light on it....would it be bad if i just played with the settings till i found the clipping light flicker then just back it off a bit or will that little bit of clipping do DAMAGE?
